Born and raised in Florence, Italy, Leonardo discovered his love of hair while working at a local salon as a teenager. He began his formal training in 1986, where he, as kismet would have it, met his future business partner Marco Santini. Like many Florentines before him, he set out for a new life elsewhere and soon thereafter landed at London’s prestigious salon Alan International. After continued travel and education, Leonardo moved to New York in 1994, where he began working at the famed salon Bumble&bumble. Between building a large clientele and educating fellow hairdressers, Leonardo cultivated a tremendously successful editorial career that can still be witnessed in countless ad campaigns, editorials, and runways across the globe. In 2008, Leonardo opened ION STUDIO NYC where he continues to challenge his craft and nurture hairdressing’s next generation. Follow Leo @leonardomanetti
Marco’s illustrious hairdressing career began in his hometown of Florence, Italy, when at the age of sixteen he decided to satisfy a creative urge. After his initial year of training, Marco, like his business partner Leonardo, pursued a formal education at London’s Alan International before bringing his refined craft back to his birthplace where he became an educator at the renowned Paolo Chirivi Salon. He then continued honing his own skill set in Spain under Luis Llongueras and in 1994, moved to New York where he built a loyal clientele at The Spot hair salon. Simultaneously, he pursued an editorial career by assisting industry legends Eugene Souleiman, Orlando Pita, Sam McKnight, Neil Moodie, and Ward. Marco’s work soon caught the eye of Bumble&bumble founder Michael Gordon, and by 1997, was one of the famed salon’s most successful stylists. His work has appeared in Vogue, Glamour, Marie Claire, V Magazine, and Dazed and Confused, as well as on a swath of runways. In 2008, he opened ION STUDIO NYC where he continues his journey both in and out of the salon.

Hailing from Montpellier, France, Yannick first flirted with becoming a hairdresser at age of twelve when, after his mother refused to bring him to the salon, he began experimenting with cuts and color on himself. His natural inclination for the craft soon had his friends clamoring for his styling skills, but it was nearly a decade later that his fate was sealed. After his first haircut from a professional at twenty-one ended disastrously, he realized his untrained eye had the potential for greatness. He pursued a formal education in his hometown and then continued honing his skill in both Europe and the United States. Along the way, he toured Europe as part of a rock band and continues playing music while also catering to an impressive salon clientele.

Colin’s hairdressing career began at the age of six when, to the delight of his dexterously challenged mother, he taught himself to french braid. After moving to New York in 2003, Colin attended the Aveda Institute and apprenticed at Antonio Prieto Salon for two years where he was first exposed to the world of editorial hairdressing. Seeking more opportunity, he began a varied career at the famed New York salon Bumble&bumble. It was there that he honed his skills behind the chair, on set, backstage, and as an educator. Never being satisfied, Colin also pursued his Bachelors degree in Art and Architectural History at Columbia University which he completed cum laude in 2015. During these years, he assisted famed hairdressers Guido Palau, Jimmy Paul, and Laurent Phillipon, worked backstage in New York and Paris on shows such as Marc Jacobs, Ric Owens, Alexander Wang, and Hood by Air, and styled celebrities from Rosario Dawson to Taylor Swift. He is happy to call ION STUDIO NYC his home and continues to focus his efforts on his dedicated salon clientele.

Kat's expansive career in hairstyling started in 1999 when she joined the hair institution Bumble&bumble at their original flagship salon in Midtown, NYC. She quickly blossomed as a stylist and at the young age of 23, she dove into the world of entertainment working on sets freelancing while also continuing to cultivate her clientele within the salon.
As she persisted in pursuing her path as a hairstylist, her ambitions took her across country and she busied herself by working bicoastally deeply immersed in Hollywood & Entertainment: cutting hair for celebrities, designers and executives such as Fran Drescher, Amy Hargreaves, Marc Ecko, Catherine Malandrino, Kieran Culkin, Diane Haughton and working on shows such as The View, Wendy Williams, Hoda and Kathie Lee, Good Morning America, Excess Hollywood and more.
Whether she is on a movie set, on-location at a photoshoot for publications or with her clients in the salon, she is extraordinarily diligent in her work and her razor sharp focus is solely on her subject. No client is turned down, as she welcomes any challenge thrown her way and the extreme care she takes with each creation shows through in her work. Follow Kat @katswork23
Tommy came to New York and was swept up into the world of hair when he took his apprenticeship with celebrated hair stylist John Dellaria at his salon in SoHo. Under the guidance of Dellaria's eccentric and often experimental take on hair artistry, Tommy discovered his appetite for designing shapes & color that suit the face, body, personality and lifestyle of each unique client.
He continued on to advance his own haircutting styles and honed in on his love for the subtleties of coloring: whether it is indulging in the glorious shades and tones of a gloss or a single process, or the dimensional depths of foil highlights, to the carefully placed hairpainting techniques of balayage. At his core he loves developing a connection with his clients and thrives on the demands and energy of his fast-paced, busy days in the salon. His personality and natural charisma have gained him the loyalty of his committed, discerning clientele. Follow Tommy @tommywrightstyle

From the age of 18, Seiko took a very extreme liking to color. The naturalness, and full of movement looks she can create is what made her most noticed starting out in one of the top salons in Tokyo, Japan. She quickly became the busiest and most noticed colorists in the city, which led her to teaching seminars and private classes for color companies, Japanese fashion magazines, and advertisements. This fueled her to make a move to NY and study under the "God of color" Michael Murphy.
Seiko now splits her time both in select cities on the east coast and in Japan.
