VIDEO: from NATURE to the heart of SoHo, the MAKING OF our NEW STATIONS!

In 2015 we have taken the next step in bringing our balance of beauty and sustainability to the next level.

On the top floor of our salon you can see three oak wood styling stations hewn from fallen trees found on Leonardo's and Marco's upstate New York property, and here's a little peek behind the scenes on how these beauties were made.

The new ION STUDIO NYC was designed by Brooklyn-based WRK, an architectural and design firm known for projects like Le Labo at The Ace Hotel, Rag & Bone, Rudy's Barbershop and Brass Monkey, all of which are created by sustainably upcycling and renovating salvaged materials sourced from local craftsmen. Built to reflect the design of a home with three distinct floors and seventeen chairs, the salon is completely custom-done with the help of local craftsmen and largely reused materials, while still maintaining the level of sophistication that marks both ION STUDIO NYC and Davines styles.

“Beauty can be done sustainably, and we want to be a catalyst for that.” - Leonardo Manetti

HOW TO: Party Look that's Sleek & Chic

Dress up your hair for the NYE celebration or any upcoming party! Sleek and chic look that will compliment any dinner and/or party attire.

1. Blow-dry straight and flat iron the hair with the Volume Boosting Mousse (flat iron back).

2. Take a small section from the back of the ears to center to make a braid, on both sides. Use the Invisible No Gas Spray to keep it from slipping.

3. Pin the braids together under your hair.

4. Take a needle and a thread and stitch a piece through the braid and over the top to create a head band, and then through braid and over the back to keep the hair together. You could also use a ribbon or a shiny string. Your hair will stay put thanks to the products you have used in the process.

HOLIDAY LOOK you MUST try this season

This look is a fabulous way to bring something new to your holiday hair routine.
Why use one clip when you can use three? The high shine and the organization work perfectly to create this bold striking hair.

1. Prep dry hair with Volume Building Mousse, then add a layer of vole Mist and Blow dry straight with a Mason Pierson Brush.
2. Flat Iron hair, using small sections and keeping roots flat.
3. Apply OI Dry Oil mid shaft to ends.
4. Flatten hair into panels and attach with an elastic.
5. Keep sections clean and organized, bringing the side sections up last.
6. After hair is up, place clips in at natural bends, or to cover
