Sarajane Lynch stylist
Sarajane Lynch grew up in Orange County, California and began her hairstyling career in 1996.
Initially trained at Vidal Sassoon in Santa Monica, California, Sarajane came to New York in 2004 to attend legendary Bumble and bumble hairstyling school Bb.U. After growing her personal client base in the salon, she trained to become an educator for the Bb. apprentice program and design courses. She taught dozens of students – many of whom ultimately became Bb. stylists – and gave design lectures to established hair stylists from across the country.
But Sarajane’s talents are not confined to the studio; she was an integral part of the styling team at such noted fashion shows as Tuleh, Chado Ralph Rucci, Nannette Lepore, Boudicca, Vena Cava, Ruffian and Baby Phat at New York Fashion Week.
Drawing design ideas from fashion, music and period films, Sarajane continues to evolve as a hairstylist. A new mother, she also finds creative inspiration in the books she (finally) has time to read while her baby naps, and in sewing and pottery classes.
Sarajane joined the ION team in June 2008. ION Studio is Manhattan’s first green salon, built using recycled and eco-friendly materials and powered by wind.
“It’s amazing to be a part of ION since its inception and to see it grow,” Sarajane says of the salon. “When you have a group of such passionate, dedicate stylists sharing a vision, you begin to feel like family – it’s an incredible feeling.”
Co-founded by her partner Leonardo Manetti, ION truly is a family business for Sarajane. The two live in Williamsburg, Brooklyn with their daughter, Gemma.
